Ship Sank At Laemchabang Port

A tourist ship has sunk at Laemchabang port after it had anchored for a year.

PATTAYA- Recently- [PattayaDailyNews]; According to the case that a big ship which has been deteriorated and anchored at LamChabang port, the people has criticised about the incident on the social media because they are afraid that it might be a problem. Later the official has ordered the ship owner to repair the ship as soon as they could do it.

On 27 February, the reporters were told by marine department officer that the ship sunk the night before due overwhelming of leaking water. The vessel sunk 2 kilometres off the shore. However, the vessel is quite huge, the people see that the vessel sloped on one side.


The marine department has already contacted the ship owner to take care of this matter after the ship has anchored for a year. The official needed to urgently cope the situation after the issue has been raised on social media.

Mr.Kritpetch Chaipuang- director of marine environment of marine department- revealed that he doesn’t expect that the ship would sink really fast and he and his team already contact the owner to cope the situation; however, it’s too late. Initially, they would have to take the boat to secured place before disassembling the vessel part by part.


The ship was named “OCEAN DREAM” which was made in China. It has been used to serve tourism since 2013 and most of tourist were Chinese people. However, the number of tourists has decreased so the owner decided to anchored it at the port.
