Security Measure Put In Place At Reservoir

Sattahip District officials are again opening the Huay Tu reservoir after new security measure have now been put in place after two gangs of teenagers shot each other.

SATTAHIP – November 2nd 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at the meeting room of Kled Kaew Subdistrict Municipality, Amphur Sattahip Mr. Manas Suwannarin (Senior Assistant District Chief Officer, Acting Sattahip District Chief) chaired the meeting between 3 parties consisting of administrative officials, naval officers and the police. The meeting was to set out preventive measures for the security of tourists that visit Huay Tu reservoir. Mrs. Siriporn Pinlom (Mayor of Kled Kaew Subdistrict Municipality, Group Captain Boonmee Kaew-sa-nga (Head of Operation Unit, Coordination Official Team of the 4th naval fleet Pol.Col. Mekhawit Praditphon (Superintendent of Sattahip police station), Mr. Chawat Thepthap (Head of Security Division) and related officers had attended the meeting.


Mr. Manas Surin revealed that on October 30, 2015 there was a shooting incident between 2 groups of teenagers at the Huay Tu reservoir and Mr. Anuwat or Off Tran, aged 25 was shot and severely injured. Therefore, Sattahip District officials had ordered the temporarily closure of the reservoir.

Therefore, Sattahip officials need to set up the preventive measures to keep the area safe for tourists. 1. Prohibition of vehicles to be parked inside Huay Tu reservoir. 2. Naval officers will take charge of security at Huay Tu reservoir. 3. Setup of an operation centre for tourists. 4. Prohibition of selling and drinking alcohol. 5. Control all vendors for not taking advantage of the tourists at Huay Tu reservoir.


Huay Tu reservoir will be opened every day from 8.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.
