Sattahip “Ya-ice” Dealer Escapes Crashes Into Coconut Tree

A crystal methamphetamine dealer was lured by under cover police agents. Upon receiving the money the suspect escaped in a pickup truck to Bang Sarey beach but collided a coconut tree, the vehicle was severely damaged and the suspect stuck inside the truck. The police found 2,000 THB drug money in his pants and ya-ice hidden in the truck.

Sattahip, September 30, 2011[Pattaya Daily News]; Pol. Lt. Col. Damrong Aunsoongnern, Sattahip Police and Pol. Sen. Sgt. Maj. Phathai Borisuttham acted as undercover agents and purchased 10 grams of ya-ice worth 2,000 THB the from Mr.Rithchai Ritjanto or “Art” age 28, address Najomtien, Sattahip, Chonburi province.The appointment for ya-ice purchase took place at a PPT petrol pump on Sukhumvit road,

After Mr.Rithchai found out that he was set up by the police he suddenly drove off in his Toyota Vigo 4-door pickup truck, license number KHOR KHOR – 5998 Chonburi and managed to escape to Bang Sarey beach at high speed until he collided with a coconut tree. The truck was severely damaged and Mr Rittichai was stuck inside the truck. The rescue team extracted him out of the truck and sent him to Bangkok Pattaya hospital.

Upon investigation Pol. Lt. Col. Damrong Aunsoongnern said that that Mr.Rithchai aka “Art” was going to sell the ya-ice to teenagers in Sattahip and therefore a plan was made to lure and catch him red handed.

As the arrest was made Mr.Rithchai tried to escape in his pickup truck. He drove off at high speed and in Bang Sarey he collided with a coconut tree, the Toyota Vigo was severely damaged and he was injured.

Pol. Sen. Sgt. Maj. Phathai Borisuttham, said that Mr.Rithchai was a known drug dealer selling ya-ice to teenagers. Following a body search the police found 2,000 THB in his right side trouser pocket and in the pickup truck they found ya-ice, weight 1.5 g in a small bag. The evidence was seized and Mr “Art” will be prosecuted according to the Thai law on charges of selling, crystal methamphetamine “ya-ice”.
