Sattahip Police Arrest Amphetamine Dealing Couple

Sattahip police have arrested a couple who were amphetamine agents. They were caught with almost 7,000 amphetamine pills.

SATTAHIP – November 17, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 11.00 a.m., Pol.Col. Chonnaphat Nawalak (Superintendent of Sattahip police station, Chonburi province) together with Pol.Lt.Col. Pawatchai Sudsakhorn (Superintendent), Pol.Lt.Col. Niphon Pomsanarm (Deputy Superintendent) and detective police team had together arrested a couple that were drug dealers. They were identified as Mr. Atthaphon or Ek Phatthanasiri, aged 24, who was a son of an automobile repair shop owner and Miss Jittima or Ni Yusicharoen, aged 23, who was an employee of a municipal education division in Rayong province. They were charged with dealing a type 1 narcotic in their possession. They were caught with 6,600 amphetamine pills and 1 gold bronze Toyota Vios car, license no. Kor Mor-7636 Chonburi.


Pol.Lt.Col. Pawatchai Sudsakhorn (Deputy Superintendent) revealed that Sattahip police station had been arresting drug dealers in the Rayong area and had worked their way up the drug dealing chain until they found that Mr Ek was a main dealer in the area. Therefore Sattahip police made a plan to let an undercover agent order 1,000 amphetamine pills from Mr. Ek and made an appointment to deliver them at the side of the Sukhumvit road in front of Nern Kra Prok temple, Tambon Ban Chang, Amphur Ban Chang, Rayong province. When Mr. Ek arrived with his wife in their car he was arrested. Initially, Mr. Ek confessed that there were another 5,600 pills buried under a big tree on the side of road no. 11, Soi 13 Tambon Ma Kham Khu, Amphur Nikhom Phatthana, Rayong province, so the police team went to inspect the scene.


Upon investigating Mr. Ek he confessed that he and his wife had sold amphetamines for over 2 months and where paid 25,00thb when they had delivered 10,000 amphetamines which they had done several times. Mr. Ek revealed that it was because of his greed to become rich quickly that he decided to sell drugs.
