Sattahip Officials Inspected Internet Cafés

Sattahip officials have inspected internet cafés after they were notified that there were teenagers consuming drugs. They test 30 teenagers but they all passed the drug test.

SATTAHIP – August 27, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 15.30 pm Mr.Pawat Lerdmukda-chief district of Sattahip- had ordered Mr.Chawat Thepthap-deputy chief of security- to lead a team to inspect 4 internet cafés after they were notified that teenagers had consumed drugs in the cafés. Also they had clamped down on teenagers who were under the age of 18 according to Thai law.

 

Mr.Pawat said that the governor of Chonburi had given an order to clamp down on drugs in Karaoke caféa and internet cafés. Previously officials had been notified that there were a lot of drug addicts in these cafés which were near schools, therefore they needed to inspect them. Upon testing 30 teenagers who were using the targeted premises no one failed the drug test.

 

Initially the officials ordered the owners of each premises to check their customers more closely in the future and if they find anyone using drugs they are to contact the police or they will be prosecuted.
