The Sanctuary of Truth Pattaya Inspected By Forestry Officers

Deputy District Chief of Banglamung District coordinated with Forestry officers to inspect the logs being used to build The Sanctuary of Truth to see if they were legal or not.

PATTAYA – July 29, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.00 p.m., Mr. Jakkrit Buranakittiphinyo (Deputy District Chief of Banglamung District, Suppression Division), Mr. Jakkrit Saengkulab (Head of Forestry Ranger no. ChorBor. 1 (Bor Thong), Mr. Phrot Sukcharoen (Forestry Technical Officer, Professional Level) and Pol.Lt.Col. Supphachai Phuangthong (Inspector of Banglamung police station) together brought forces of the forestry officers and police team to inspect The Sanctuary of Truth which is under construction, address 206/2, Soi 12 Pattaya-Na Kluea road, Moo 5 Tambon Na Kluea, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, after some people were concerned about the logs being legal or not.

 

Upon inspecting The Sanctuary of Truth then the officers found 490 logs (total 40 million THB) were piled in a construction area. Mr. Anuphong Kulphetchawanan (Marketing Manager) presented the officers with the documentary evidence to confirm that he had obtained such logs legally. He also said that all the logs were the “Iron wood” [Xylia xylocarpa Taub (Leguminosae)] that he had ordered from Sarobon Co., Ltd., Pathum Thani province.

After the same officers went to inspect “Kay Papaya Salad and Grilled Chicken of Khao Suan Kwang restaurant” which is located in Soi Thai Udom, north Pattaya, Moo 6 Tambon Na Kluea, Amphur Banglamung after they received complaints from local people that the restaurant had been constructed with large pieces of timber and that they might be illegal. The restaurant owner and a contractor named Mr. Saenrak Meesuttha, aged 48, took the officers to inspect 17 large pieces of timber which consisted of 1 Iron wood and 16 Cananga woods (Cananga odorata, Family: Annonaceae). They were being used to construct a 1-storied-papaya salad restaurant.

 

However, the officers seized all the logs for further inspection and told the log owners not to use them in any further construction until they have found out the real truth about where the logs came from.
