On 30 July 2007, 4 p.m., Pattaya police major Chaigrit Thong-in, directed captain Wuthiphong Tabsang, deputy investigator, to go with a police team to a three-storey townhouse at number 148/144, Soi Batman Moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi. The purpose was to arrest a dice gambling gang operating there.
Arriving at the crime scene, police found many motorbikes parked in front. Knocking on the door, they entered without resistance and discovered some 30 men and women engaged in gambling. As the raid unfolded, many of the group attempted to flee. But police managed to catch 14 men and three women of the alleged gambling ring.

Mr Charin Ganhom, age 35, from Sra-gaew province is alleged to have been the gambling host, but he escaped. Police say that the gang keeps changing places to avoid arrest. However, investigators were able to learn of the gathering at Soi Batman. Police emphasize that many of those arrested are repeat offenders.
