Sailing Club Prepares Readiness In Sea Games For Gold

Sailing Association of Thailand had inspected the readiness for SEA Games at Ocean Marina Yacht Club and declared hopes for gold and award from ISAF (International Sailing Federation)

Amiral Sathiraphan Geyanon, Chairman of Sailing Association of Thailand, in royal patronage, assigning Vice Admiral Aphiwat Sriwathana, Executive Secretary of Sailing racing for 24th SEA Games, and the team to inspect the readiness of Sailors and the venue including facilities and location at Ocean Marina Yacht Club. There will be sailors from six countries, such as: Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, The Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, officially coming to practice at the location from 24 November 2007 and the Sailing racing will be from 8 – 14 December 2007.

Vice Admiral Aphiwat declared that on 10 December 2007, International Sailing Federation (ISAF) has requested a sailing racing and windsurfing racing in order to celebrate the 100th and to win the trophy of ISAF. Sailing Association of Thailand would organize the 5th racing in the category of 470 for Male Super Mod, Male Optimist, Female Optimist and Windsurfing, especially for the 100th of ISAF.

Vice Admiral Aphiwat also said that the location for the racing will be in four zonings such as : Zone A is for Optimist, Zone B is for Laser and Super Mod, Zone C is for category 470 and 420 and Zone D is for Hobie 16 and Platu. After the inspection for readiness of sailors, coaches, commanders and facilities, Vice Admiral found five factors for gold medals. They are: Hosting location, Super Mod category, Being former champion, Moral support and The determination to beat Singapore.

Five categories in the high hopes are Hobie 16 by Lieutenant Junior Grade Damrongsak Wongtim, sailing commander with Mr. Sakda Wongtim as a crew/ Super Mod by Sergeant Major Suthee Phoonphat/ Optimist by young boy Navy Thamasunthorn/ Team Oftimist by Young boy Nathawut Paen-yam and young girl Phatheera Meeyusamsen and young girl Jitthiwa Thanawitwilas/ the last category is Platu by Sergeant Major Weerewat Phoonphat, commander with Lieutenant Weerasit Phueng-nak, Sergeant Major Ek-anan Daojantuk, Sergeant Major Saichon Boon tham and Sergeant Major Nathaphon Srihiran as the crew.
 

The sailor team reveal that they are ready and determined to beat Singapore who wishes to be number one in Sailing. Even if Singapore has provided the course in school sport and it is easy to find the athletes but we will use the determination and the skill to win the racing.
