It had apparently failed to negotiate a bend, driving into a ditch, flipping onto its right side near the International School in the direction of Chon Buri, Moo 1, Ong Banglamung around 20 km from Pattaya.

The windscreen to the right was smashed and is said to have been broken by the passengers and the tour guide from the inside in their efforts to evacuate the coach.

There have been no reports of deaths, but 16 of the tourists are said to have sustained serious injuries which has led to them being hospitalized at various hospitals in and around Pattaya while others have been found with minor injuries.

During the interrogation of the driver Mr. Buchuai Janthamat (51) from Chiangmai, he told the officer that he was driving the coach to Kanjana Buri with the 42 passengers, 1 tour guide and his assistant, when he felt a problem with the wheel as he approached the scene of the accident. He tried to control the coach and slowed down, but the coach veered of the road into the ditch approximately 100 meters from where the problem occurred.

At the briefing, police logged the names of those injured and all those questioned for evidence, before taking the driver into custody and charging him for careless driving.
