Russian Lady Attacked With Knife by Robbers

A 25-year-old Russian tourist was slashed five times with a knife during a street robbery in Jomtien by two men who fled on a motorbike. The thieves stole her handbag and tried to yank a gold necklace from her neck, but she resisted and ran for help, seriously bleeding from her wounds.

PATTAYA – October 22, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; A report of two robbers using a knife to hack a foreigner who got injured was received by Pol. Maj. Kovit Sawatmongkol, Inspector, Pattaya police station. He rushed to inspect the scene with inspector police, volunteer police and the rescue officer of Sawangboribulthammasathan Pattaya foundation.

The incident occurred in Soi Chaiyapruk near Muang Mai village Moo 12 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

When police arrived in front of the Roj dental clinic, bystanders were assisting the bleeding woman, who was crying and frightened. She was identified as Ms. Jenniya Nikolina, age 25, nationality Russian.

Ms. Jenniya had been hacked five times by the knife in her body. She had fled from the robbers and ran about 50 meters to ask for assistance from the bystanders helping her. The rescue officer performed first aid and sent her to the Pattaya Memorial hospital.

Policed inspected the scene of the robbery and found pools of blood from the victim spread all over the road. Nearby was a pair of slippers that had fallen on the ground. Police assumed that the slippers belonged to the thieves so they kept it for evidence.

The thieves had stolen Ms. Jenniya’s purse, which had contained 3,000 THB cash, a mobile phone, and a camera. Pol. Maj. Kovit Sawatmongkol revealed that the two thieves were riding a motorbike of unknown brand and model.

The robbers had followed the victim while she was walking from Jomtien Beach to her hotel. Then the thieves used the knife to slice her and took her handbag, and also tried to pull her gold necklace from her neck. But the victim resisted and broke free to run to ask for assistance from the local people.

After making trouble, the thieves rode their motorbike to escape in the direction of Sukhumvit Road.
