Russian Fraudster Arrested By Immigration Police

A Russian man who cheated people in Russia out of 100 million baht fled to Thailand where he stayed as a student. He was arrested by Thai immigration police after they were informed by Interpol.

PATTAYA – March 24,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; At 10.00 am Pol.Maj.Gen,Thamrong Saengwattanaku-superintendent of the immigration police-, Pol.Col.Prapansak Prasansuk-superintendent of Chonburi immigration police made a statement about the arrest of Mr Igor Batalov aged 34 from Russia who was being hunted by Interpol for fraud.

 

Pol.Col.Prapansak revealed that the police were previously notified by Russian officials that Mr Igor had cheated people in Russia out of 100 million baht and then fled to Thailand where he was living on a student visa. The police then cancelled his visa and arrested him in his room at the Atlantis Condo Resort.

 

However, the police officers detained him according to Thai law before sending him back to Russia.
