Russian Drown Near Khram Noi Island

A drown Russian body was located 500 metres from Khram Noi Island, Suttahip bay, where he was last seen

Suttahip, 26th April 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: At 11 a.m., the Royal Thai Navy and Sea Rescue Team from Rojanathammasatarn Foundation were searching for the body of a Russian tourist reportedly drown near the beach, south of Khram Noi Island, Suttahip Bay where he was last seen.

Fortunately at 16.30 the next day, a flight instructor located the body of the 37-year-old Oleg Peminiaka (500 meters away from Suttahip bay) while travelling by his aircraft

Oleg’s swollen tattooed body was found lying prone on the rocks. He was wearing only his underwear, a Casio watch on his left hand and a black necklace.

The police verified the deceased’s identification with the victim’s friend and passport photo.

Police Captain, Arthorn Jitthin (Injury Official of Suttahip Police Department) stated that police will wait for an autopsy result before determining whether the death was a suicide or a homicide.

Suttahip police had contacted the Russian embassy, who will liaise with the drown victim’s relatives to arrange his funeral
