Russian Couple Mugged In Pattaya

A Russian couple was attacked and robbed of their belongings by 3 Cambodian labourers. Fortunately the Russian man fought back until the attackers fled and one of them was caught by some local people.

PATTAYA – December 4,2014 [Pattaya Daily News] at 02.40 am Pol.Lt.Sombat Kaewmoon-inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that a foreign couple had been attacked and robbed behind the East Sea Paradise resort. After notification the police officers and Sawang Borriboon rescue team rushed to inspect the crime scene.

 

At the crime scene the officials found a Mr.Locha Leehasofe a 27 year old Russian man who was son of restaurant owner in Pattaya. He had been hit over the head so the rescue team performed first aid on him. His girlfriend was really frightened about the incident.Upon inspecting the crime scene the officials found blood stains and they also found a bottle of alcohol and a shoe on the floor therefore the officials collected them as evidence.

Mr.Locha revealed in Thai that he took his girlfriend out and they lit 3 candles to make a lovely atmosphere. Later 3 villains ran up to them and attacked them so he fought back until the attackers fled. However the attackers took a bag which contained a motorcycle key and condominium room key.

 

Mr.Sadayu Thongkng aged 18 who witnessed the incident chased the attackers and caught one of them who was identified as Mr.Khuen 18 year old from Cambodia. Upon questioning him he claimed that he and his two friends Mr.Wise and Mr.Nes had been drinking alcohol near the Russian couple. Later they ran out of alcohol and had no more money so Mr Wise and Mr Nes whispered to each other before they attacked the Russian man. While he didn’t do anything he fled away from the crime scene but he was caught by some local people.

In addition the reporters revealed that in the evening on the incident day Pattaya police officers had just opened a patrol team in Pattaya in order to protect and keep foreigners safe. Mr.Khomsan Aekachai-governor of Chonburi –and Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong Niemnoi-commander of Chonburi- had chaired the opening ceremony of the project. The police expected that the villains also aimed to rape the Russian girl.
