Russia’s Vera Zvonareva Clinches Ptt Pattaya Open Title

The PTT Pattaya Open 2009 concluded Sunday with Vera Zvonareva of Russia winning the title after defeating Sania Mirza of India 7-5, 6-1 at Dusit Thani Pattaya. The afternoon finals was packed with tennis fans who sat throughout the match to watch their favorite players take a chance and give their best shot at winning the tournament.

In the doubles final,Thailand’s Tamarine Tanasugarn teamed up with Yaroslava Shvedova to emerge victorious over Ukraine’s Yuliya Beygelzimer and Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia,6-3, 6-2.

The PTT Pattaya Open 2009 was held as one of the longest running tennis events on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour for professional women tennis players. Dusit Thani Pattaya, most renowned for its relaxed resort ambience with tennis courts overlooking the sea has served as the host venue to this prestigious tennis open for 18 years now.
