Roti Street Vendor Arrested For Theft In Pattaya

A Roti street vendor was arrested after a Chinese girl left her phone on his food cart. He took out the sim card and hid the phone in a box.

PATTAYA – November 14,2014 [Pattaya Daily News] at 00.30 am Pol.Capt.Yongyut Wannua-deputy inspector of Pattaya police station- and police officers had arrested Mr.Muhammad Hutsen a 28 year old Burmese Roti street vendor with a stolen Samsung cell phone which belonged to Miss.Zheng Ping a 31 year old Chinese reporter.


Miss.Zheng Ping notified the police that she had left her phone on the Roti vendor cart. Later she went back to get her phone but the vendor had gone but she remembered what he looked like. The police officers searched for the vendor and found him selling Roti in Soi Batman alley, South Pattaya.


Upon questioning Mr.Muhammad he claimed that he gave the phone to a massager so the officers took him to find the massager but they couldn’t find her. The officers noticed that he was acting suspiciously and tried to escape. Therefore the police decided to search his cart and found the phone in the Roti storage box.


Mr.Muhammad confessed that he had been living in Thailand and selling Roti for 20 years. When she left the phone he immediately took out the sim card and hid the phone in the box. He planned to sell the phone but was caught by the police who prosecuted him for robbery and illegally working without permission.
