PATTAYA – December 6, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 10.00 am., a journalist reported from residents and tourists that the electricity transformer cabinet that is located on central Pattaya beach, opposite Muang Pattaya provincial police station was ruined and some people were dumping their junk there, and they were afraid that somebody may get electrocuted.

Subsequently, the reporter went to check the cabinet which is 2.5x 4 meters in size and had no roof. In side there was a very large electrical transformer and the door was open and broken leaning against a coconut tree. When they checked it thoroughly they found some wires were hanging down on the floor where there was a lot of rubbish, leaves, grasses, and sewage which smelt very bad.

After asking a street cleaner who was cleaning nearby said it had been ruined for more than a month and people were going inside to dump their garbage, to excrete and she had seen a snake slithered out of it but none of the concerned agencies had been to fix the problem.

One of beach bed vendors revealed that normally the cabinet was locked, but did not know why it had been broken open and was afraid it might fall on somebody and hurt them due to it weighing around 100 kg’s she also added that late at night some prostitutes are using it as a place to perform oral sex, so she wanted it to be fixed immediately.
