SATTAHIP – January 5,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.30 p.m., the radio center officers of Sawang Rojjana Tharmma Satharn Sattahip Foundation was notified that there was a kitten stuck up a tree and the kitten had been there for three days at a house in Bang Sarey, Amphur Sattahip, Chon Buri province, rescuers rushed to inspect the kittens predicament armed with the appropriate rescue equipment.

At the scene was a single house with surrounding areas in which there was a Mast tree (Cemetery tree) in front of the house, approximately 15 meters high. The rescuers found a male kitten named Ma-yom, aged 5 months, clutching to a tree branch, clearly distressed. The rescuers attempted to climb up the tree to help it but the tree was very tall and the branches were very weak therefore rescuers had to use a long-handled fruit-picker to lift up the kitten. Unfortunately this frightened the kitten causing it to fall to the ground, fortunately it landed into a bush causing minimal injuries. Since the incident the kitten has made a full recovery from its ordeal

Upon questioning, Rear Admiral (RAdm.) Krayim Phichaikul, aged 83, who is an ex-admiral and the house owner, said that Ma-yom was a male kitten that had fled its house as it was always chased and bitten by a dog named Ma-kham when they were fed together. Before the incident occurred Ma-kham (the dog) had chased after Ma-yom (the kitten) so Ma-yom ran away and climbed up the tree but was unable to climb down so RAdm. Krayim Phichaikul had to notify the rescuers to come to assist in getting the cat down from the tree.
