Reporters Met Superintendent After Planted Drugs

Pattaya reporters have met the Pattaya police superintendent after a reporter had drugs planted on him by a volunteer police officer.

PATTAYA – March 2,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 15.30 pm, Mr.Thiwakorn and reporters went to meet Pol.Lt.Col.Pawatchai Sudsakorn-deputy superintendent of Pattaya police station- in order to find out the truth about the bad situation. Initially, the police officers summoned Mr.Pongsawad but he rejected any allegations and Mr.Pongsawad insisted that he spotted a packet of drugs near the reporter so he supposed they belonged to him. However, the eyewitnesses insisted that Mr.Pongsawad tried to plant the drugs on Mr.Thiwakorn; therefore, the police officers recorded to incident and prosecuted him according to Thai law.


Pol.Lt.Col.Pawatcahi revealed that the police officers had questioned both sides and they and recorded the incident so they can fight it out in court. Meanwhile, the drugs were unknown and were sent to the science office be checked.

Initially, the police officers revealed that Mr.Pongsawad was not a volunteer police officer anyway but he was just extra staff that the police had hired to take care of confiscated motorcycles. However the local people were afraid that some the volunteer police were acting in a corrupt way and the police needed to control them. The official ordered the volunteer police to wear uniforms and the officers have to show their ID cards. In addition, the officials intended to punish those volunteer officers who didn’t obey the strict rules.
