Pattaya, 15th July 2010 [Pattaya Daily News] At 12.30 am, Mrs. Klitsana Schupfer [29] from Nakorn Phanpm had informed a Pattaya Reporter that on the evening of 9th July, Mr. Nestor Schupfer [52] her Swiss husband had an accident, cutting his arm and finger on a glass door.  In addition he believed that the tendon of his little finger had also been injured. The wound required 40 stitches, but the doctor stated that after diagnosis, it was found that the tendon of Mr. Schupfers finger was not damaged.

Mr. Schupfer had treatment for 4 days after the doctor stitched up the wound without apparently checking the tendon. The couple continuously requested that the doctor recheck the injury before the wound healed, even challenging him and threatening to prosecute him, but without any response.

Mrs. Schupfer explained that she was studying in Switzerland for a master’s degree whilst the husband worked as a musician playing keyboard for Duo Miranda band, renowned in Switzerland. They also owned an auditing company. The two of them traveled to Thailand in order to find “Phalaphol” their favorite famous Thai male singer to invite him to be a guest at a concert in Switzerland. Accordingly they had arrived in Thailand to stay at a hotel in Rayong before the accident occurred.   Mr. Schupfer had received 4 days of treatment in Bangkok-Rayong Hospital without any improvements and paid more than 400,000 baht charge.

Subsequently Mrs. Schupfer decided to take him to Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital for treatment on 14th of July. She had explained to the doctor that they thought the tendon of her husbands’ finger had been damaged and needed to be repaired as her husband was a piano instructor and a band member. Subsequently Mrs. Schupfer informed ‘Khom Chad Luek’ a Thai Newspaper about the incident, in the hope that no one else would receive such poor treatment as they had.
