Bangkok, the 26th of January 2010 [TNA]: Key UDD member Weng Tojirakarn, leading other members, submitted the letter to acting police chief Pol Gen Prateep Tanprasert through Pol Maj-Gen Ratthapong Yimyai, secretary to the Royal Thai Police, asking for a progress report over the two main airports seizure case by the UDD’s rival ‘Yellow Shirt’ People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) in December 2008.

After a year, there has been no progress while investigators hasten their cases filed against the Red Shirts, they claimed, demanding reply from the police about development of the case within one week. Otherwise, the UDD will suit against the police responsible for the case and will submit a letter to the government.

The Yellow Shirts staged mass protests last year that led to the airport blockade forcing the resignation of Somchai Wongsawat administration which it accused of being a proxy of ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The siege left more than 300,000 passengers stranded. (TNA)
