Red Shirt Protests about Coup In Front Of Pattaya City HallHundreds of red shirt protesters who were dissatisfied about the coup decided to protest in front of Pattaya City Hall. They were angry that the coup was unacceptable and illegal.
Pattaya-May 22-at 20.00 pm. There were about 100 red shirt protesters which was led by Mr.Wanchalerm Kunsen aged 29 and they had gathered in front of Pattaya City Hall. They claimed that they don’t accept the coup which has been ordered by General Prayuth Chan-ocha. Mr Ronnakit Aekasingha-deputy mayor of Pattaya- and Pattaya police officers monitored the situation.
The protesters had rotated to speak against the military that the coup is unacceptable and illegal. They also condemned the situation that the military had dispersed the mass rally and there had been a lot of red shirts shot and dead. However the red shirts accepted to end the protest at 22.00 pm after Mr.Ronnakit asked them to, they said that they will protest again today (23 May) at 15.00 pm in front of Pattaya city hall.
Also grocery, mini marts and entertainment venues in Pattaya were closed at 22.00 as the military’s National Peace and Order Maintaining Council (NPOMC) has announced.
