Dr. Chotiphityasunon, the Deputy Director of Office of Mental Health, as a child psychiatrist advised the recent case from an International news about the man who jumped off the department store as he was disappointed with the actual look of his online girlfriend. Although, this might only be the rumor, there is a possibility that this kind of incident might happen.

It is very common for people to present themselves attractively on their social websites with many uses of Photoshop applications. However, this might turn to be unrealistic for both physical and mental looks and could easily disappoint their dating partners when meeting them in person. This problem among teenagers has increased overtime due to an advancement of technology. It has been learnt from most of the teenagers who come to seek advice from the doctor that most of them use these social channels to find new friends or even to talk to their old friends or colleagues.

Girls are especially advised to be more careful to take their friends along when meeting their online dating partners at the public places only.

Dr. Chotiphityasunon advised parents to take special care of their children or encourage them to seek advice from the parents if they come across such issue. Moreover, parents are also advised not to overlook this issue as it might lead to a suicide or some other serious issues.
