Police Take Care The Tourists During The Political Rallies

The tourism police mobilized forces to take care of the tourist’s safety during the recent the political rallies where they reported that there weren't any complaints from the foreign tourists.

BANGKOK – January 13, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol. Col. Archayon Kraithong (Deputy Commander of Tourism Police) revealed that the tourism police had mobilised forces of up to 60 police officers to facilitate the foreign tourists in the area of 4 points on the BTS sky trains. The 4 points were Phayathai station the connecting points to airport link at Siam, Asok and Saladaeng throughout the day on January 13, 2014.

The tourism police had rotated the shifts of officers to take care of the safety of the tourists in various places during each 24 hours including the coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thai Hotels Association (THA), The Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) and the volunteers that assisted for the Thai and foreign tourists.
Mr. Khajorn Weerajai (Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Tourism and Sports) revealed that on January 13, 2014 there were only 6 foreign tourists who called to ask for directions to Tourist’s Friend Center or TFC. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports had promoted the tourism for foreign tourists to come and visit Thailand.

The head office of the Tourist’s Friend Center (TFC) which is aid tourists at the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has 2 branches, 1 at Suvarnnabhumi airport and 1 at Don Mueang airport. They also set up 5 points for assisting tourists, 4 points of BRT sky train stations at Siam station, Phayathai station, Aekkamai station and Saladaeng station and the other 1 point at MRT sky train station at Hua Lam Phong station. The tourists can also ask for further information by calling the 24hr hotline on 02-314-1212.
