Police Reject 80,000 Baht Bribe

An accomplice of an arrested drug dealer attempted to pay for her friend’s freedom with 80,000 Baht cash but she was charged with bribery of officers instead

Pattaya, 7th April 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: At 4.30 p.m., Police Lieutenant, Wissanu Chaisuwan (Assistant Suppressing Officer of Pattaya Police Department) and the police team arrested two drug suspects.
Mrs. Renu Ruamsawat, 48 and Mrs. Boonrod Sukprayoon, 57 were charged with possession of 17 and 19 Amphetamines respectively.

Both suspects also admitted they had been selling Amphetamines to Pattaya teenagers.

At the investigation, Mrs. Boonrod called her friend, Mrs. Samruay Ketsiri, 55, to bring 80,000 Baht cash to pay off her crime.

However, when Mrs. Samruay Ketsiri attempted to bribe the police, they rejected and charged her with bribery of civil officers instead.
