PATTAYA – March 5, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 1 a.m., a police raid was conducted at a gay bar employing underage boys, led by Pol. Col. Chaiyos Warakjunkiet, Superintendent of Immigration of Chonburi province; together with Deputy Superintendent Pol. Lt. Col. Rachthaphong Teasood.

The raid was conducted at the “Mic My Boy” bar on Soi V.C. in south Pattaya. The bar was opened as a male A-go-go that attracted many foreign tourists. A police undercover investigation revealed that the bar was smuggling boys under age 18 to work as dancers.

The police raided the bar and checked every employee. They found 17 boys under age 18 working as dancers in the bar. The boys were all available for sex in the “Short Time” rooms above the bar. The boys were detained and taken to the police station.

The customers in the bar were detained while their identities and visa status were checked, and then later released. Police arrested three adult employees, including the bar manager, Mr. Phatphongsakorn Leucha, age 34; and the cashier, Ms. Orn Phusaemsri, age 36.

The third arrested suspect, Mr. Hin Eamnu, age 26, watched the front of the bar. He would ring a bell to give a warning if the police were coming to inspect the place.

The three suspects were taken to investigate at the Chonburi police immigration department. During questioning, Mr. Phatphongsakorn confessed to being the bar’s manager who took care of all the duties assigned by the bar owner.

He admitted employing underage boys at the bar. Police were unable to locate the bar owner during the raid, but will follow up to arrest the owner to investigate and prosecute.

Pol. Col. Chaiyos Warakjunkiet, Superintendent, Chonburi immigration, revealed that for this operation, the immigration of Chonburi province discovered that this bar had smuggled to bring the boys age under 18 to work in the bar, to offer sexual service to Thai and foreign tourists without being afraid of legal punishment. So the police made the plan to raid the bar.

As for the 17 boys caught selling sex, the police sent them to the Center of Social Development and Welfare to take care of them further.
