Police in Chiang Mai Arrest well-known DJ for Drug Dealing

A Chiang Mai DJ named Anan Jaiwan has been arrested had all his property seized by police worth 150 million THB. The property was seized in the allegation of it being gained through proceeds of crime.

CHIANG MAI – May 3, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Gen. Phongsaphat Phongcharoen (Secretary-General of The Narcotics Control Board) had mobilized forces to sequester properties at Phrao Auto Car shop, Tambon Pa Toom, Amphur Phrao, Chiang Mai Province. The shop specialises in car audio and tyre changing. Also the shop operates as Wiang Phrao Radio F.M. 102.0 MHz which belongs to Mr. Anan Jaiwan, aged 42, who was arrested with 292,000 amphetamines pills on April 4, 2014.

Pol.Gen. Phongsaphat said that after arresting Mr. Anan the police seized all of his property and found that his property belonged to Mrs. Anchan Jaiwan (his wife). The total sequestered property was approximately 248 items, worth 150 million THB, which consist of land with 5 buildings in the area of Amphur Phrao and Amphur San Sine, Chiang Mai Province, over 60 rai of longan garden and teak garden, various brands of many luxury cars, 3 guns and 1 radio station.

Pol.Gen. Phongsaphat continued to say that from sequestering all of the property they were going to prosecute Mrs. Anchan in the allegations of Money Laundering. Besides, Mr. Also is also very familiar with Col. Jalobo who supervised the drug dealing groups of Mr. Chaiwat Pornsakulphaisarn (Lt.Col. Yise) and would coordinated with Col. Jalobo to arrange the military to guard the drug delivery into Thailand then the middleman would call Mr. Anan and other drug dealers to pick up drugs in order to sell in Bangkok.

Pol.Gen. Phongsaphat also said that last year The Narcotics Control Board had already sequestered properties of the offenders in the offenses relating to drugs which totalled over 3,000 million THB. However, there are still many dealers which the police will arrest who are part of the network in Thailand who supply narcotics from the northern part of Thailand to Bangkok .
