Pattaya 5th May 2010 [Pattaya Daily News] At Approximately 12.30 pm police Colonel Somnuk Janket (Banglamung Police Superintendent) was notified of a shooting, resulting in one injured teenager on the outskirt of the Saen Jarern Village at Rongpoe, Moo2, Takian Tia, Banglamung. Subsequently the Police Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent and their team, along with Sawang Boriboon Personnel went to the scene to investigate.

On arrival, the Officers found Mr. Nopphon Kraikaew [17] a 3rd year vocational certificate mechanic student at a collage in Banglamung lying on the road. He sported a gun shot wound to his right thigh so was consequently sent to the Banglamung Hospital for treatment. Nearby a black-red Honda Wave motorbike belonging to the injured youth lay on its side on the road.

On questioning, Mr. Kraikaew told Police that prior to the incident, he was riding his motorbike home to Rong Poe from Pattaya City on the Rong Poe-Takian Tia when he was shot at by a male youth on a motorbike (make and color unknown) approximately 500 meters from where he was found. He tried to drive his self to the Hospital, but fell of his bike due to the injury.

Police Colonel Janket revealed that they did not believe the victim’s story, however, if it turned out to be true they will succeed in bringing the offender to justice.  The officers believe the youth had shot himself accidentally but was afraid to admit to this believing he would not be investigated. Once the victim has been treated, the crime proceedings will continue.
