Police Crack Down Illegal Acts

Pattaya Police patrolled the suspicious area and cracked down several illicit sexual acts after receiving many complaints from tourists.

Pattaya, 23rd March 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: At 00.45 a.m., Police Captain, Thanasit Kaenluem, Assistant Suppressing Officer of Pattaya Police Department, Chonburi Pattaya together with Civil Defence Volunteer patrolled the area around Pattaya beach from the Dolphin Circle Curve (North Pattaya) to the Walking Street entrance, in order to crack down illegal prostitution and acts.

The police have been receiving many complaints from tourists, who are concerned and troubled by the illegal acts seen in public places around Pattaya beach. This would affect the reputation of Pattaya and subsequently the tourism industry, especially during this peak season.

The police arrested several ladyboys and women, who sold sexual services to more than 20 people. They were taken to the police station to record their statements. Then they were released after being fined 200 Baht each.
