Police Catch Supsects Who Robbed Foreigners

Pattaya police officers made a statement about arresting suspects who attacked and robbed foreigners.

PATTAYA – January 5,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.00 pm Pol.Col.Suppatee Boonkrong-acting superintendent of Pattaya police station-, Pol.Capt.Netithorn Rattanasuchanan-deputy inspector of Pattaya police station- police officers had together made a statement about arresting the suspects who attacked a foreigner and robbed money from him.


Mr.Suppachai Saladang aged 25 was arrested after he hit Mr.Henri Selmar Kaspar aged 60 from Switzerland with a piece of wood in front of Marine Rescue Center at Bali Hai Pier, South Pattaya in the night of 2 January.


Mr.Suppachai said that he was a souvenir seller and Mr.Henri had bought a pack of tobacco for 100 baht. Later the foreign man asked for a refund and also argued with him because he was given marijuana instead of tobacco. It’s alleged the foreign man tried to attack him with a taser, therefore he decided to hit him once before quickly fleeing.


While Mr.Nattawut Artpaiwan aged 23, a lady boy,, robbed money from Mr.Rajaratnam Velautham aged 53 from Sri Lanka with Ms.Sirinthip Cheeppensuk aged 23 who was trying to escape the police. He and the girl offered a prostitute for the foreign man at 02.30 on the same day. Later police arrested him in his room with 1,300 euros.


Upon questioning him he confessed that Mr.Rajaratnam bought sexual services from him and the girl on Pattaya beach before they all went to the hotel. Later he stole the money as he was in the bathroom before they all fled away, he later exchanged 700 euros to Thai baht.
