Accompanied by four ministers, including Interior Minister Chavarat Charnvirakul, the prime minister will attend several activities, including presiding at the opening ceremony of a railway library at Buri Ram State Railways of Thailand station, inspect rubber and sugarcane plantations in Lam Plai Mat district and inspect a reservoir project.

He is scheduled to return to Bangkok in the evening.

Mr. Chavarat told journalists before leaving the military airport that he was confident that no violence would occur during the visit although there are reports that anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protesters will demonstrate against Mr. Abhisit.

The interior minister said he was not worried about the demonstration as full security would be provided to the prime minister. So far no violence was reported in Buri Ram. (TNA)
