Pickup Truck Rams Three Girls On Motorbike

Three girls on a motorbike were hit by a speeding Isuzu pickup truck in Khao Sam Muk. One girl nearly lost her leg and remains hospitalized in a coma. The truck driver had lost control of his vehicle on a curve and his truck rear-ended the motorbike. Police detained him for careless driving.

BANGSAEN – December 16, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; a report of a vehicle collision resulting in several injuries was received by Pol. Lt. Capt. Kittipat Jaiareerob, the officer of the shift at Sansuk police station.

The accident occurred in front of a restaurant called Mantalay on the Angsila route in Khao Sam Muk hill in Chonburi. Rescuers from theTrai Kunnatham foundation Chonburi had taken the unidentified victims to Prapasri hospital at Burapha University.

Witnesses said that a 4-door Isuzu Cameo was approaching a curve in the road at a very high speed when the driver lost control of his vehicle. The truck then slammed into the back of a white Fino motorcycle with the three girls riding together.

The crash flung the three girls from the motorbike in separate directions. They were taken to the hospital, with the most seriously injured girl in a coma and nearly losing her leg.

The police detained the pickup driver at the front of the hospital and brought him to the police station for questioning. He faces charges of careless driving that resulted in injuries to other people.
