Pickpockets Strike 3 times Within Hours

A pick pocketing gang had struck 3 times within hours of each offence and targeted loan foreigners. The victims were shown pictures of the thieves and they confirmed to police it was them.

PATTAYA – March 24,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.00 a.m., Pol.Lt. Siraphudech Chamnarnkit (Inquiry official of Pattaya city police station, Chon Buri province) was notified by Mr. Torben Fries, aged 49, Danish nationality that he was on a baht bus when a Thai woman and a lady boy got on and sat either side of him for a short distance and then got off the baht bus. He then checked his pockets and found that his wallet which contained 15,000 THB had been stolen but the thieves had already fled the scene.

 

The second foreign victim was identified as Mr Bruno Rummel, aged 50 German nationality went to notify the same inquiry official at the police station that he had also been pick pocketed by a lady boy and a Thai woman. They had stolen his Samsung Galaxy Note 2 mobile phone worth approximately 15,000 THB and then fled the scene. The police then showed him 2 photographs of the suspected pickpockets to which he confirmed it was them.

 

A few moments later there was a 3rd foreign victim who was identified as Mr.Herbert Govves, aged 59, German nationality who told the police that while he was walking along beach road 2 lady boys came up to him and molested him and tried to persuade him to have sex with them before taking the opportunity to pickpocket his wallet which contained 100 Euro’s and 1,700 THB and many important documents. They then quickly fled the scene.

 

Pol.Lt. Siraphudech revealed that the first 2 foreign victims had looked at some photographs of the lady boy and the Thai woman who pick pocketed them and they had confirmed that they were the thieves. Pol.Lt. Siraphudech said that this pickpocket gang had been arrested and prosecuted last year several times by the police but they were bailed out and fought against the lawsuit then committed the offences again. However, Pol.Lt. Siraphudech had already coordinated with the detective police team to arrest the pickpockets that had robed the 3 foreigners as soon as possible.
