Pick-Up Truck Tragedy

A pickup which was being driven by and elderly couple collided into the back of an 18 wheeler truck killing them instantly. The cause of the accident was still unknown because the truck driver fled the scene.

PATTAYA – May 30,2015 [Pattaya Daily News], at 11.00 p.m., Pol.Maj. Nithat Tarunjan (Inquiry official of Nong Prue Police Station, Chon Buri province) was notified that there was a traffic accident involving a pick-up truck which had collided into the back of a trailer and there were 2 deceased at the scene. The incident occurred on route 36 Road (Kratinglai – Rayong), entrance side to Rayong Province, at an area of a U-turn point to a grade separation that crossed with route 331 Road, Tambon Pong, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri Province, so he rushed to the together with police forces from Nong Prue police station and the rescue team of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Rescue Foundation, Pattaya city.

 

At the scene officers found a severely damaged bronze Isuzu Dmax pick-up truck and inside were 2 bodies. They were identified as Mr. Jaruek Boonyangyuen, aged 65 the driver, and a Thai woman in the passenger seat who was unknown aged 60-65 but maybe the drivers wife. Nearby, there was a white Isuzu Dekka 18-wheeled trailer which had sustained damage to the rear but the driver had fled the scene.

 

Upon initial investigation, the police assumed that pick up driver may of fell asleep and crashed into the trailer. They are now searching for the driver so they can question him to find the real cause of the accident.
