Pattaya 6th July 2010 [Pattaya Daily News] After receiving a report from a Pattaya Clinic Associate, a sting operation led by Police Colonel Akkhaeadet Phimonsri (Suppression Police Department Commissioner 2) and his team revealed illegal and controlled medication from the Viagra Group (kamka pills and gel) and a muscle building substance that was being sold at Top Pharmacy, 115/22, Moo 10, Pratamnuk, Banglamung.  The medication was found to have been illegally smuggled into the country.

A Japanese client was sent in to purchase some hormone and Viagra drugs, which resulted in the issue of a search warrant from Pattaya City Court number 198/1552 in order for the raid at the Top Pharmacy.

At the scene, police discovered Mr. Wicha Thipphawan [44] from Bangkok on the 2nd floor of the building where a stash of illegal drugs was kept. These included 2,250 packs of Kamaka gel, 880 Kamaka pills, 240 Ab S X pills, 1,040 Intimekta pills, and 520 Kaverta pills with a cost of 145,500 baht. The muscle building medication consisted of 10 kinds of 1,012 bottles with a cost of 415,786 baht. The total cost was 561,286 baht. They were confiscated and will be used as evidence.

Mr. Thipphawan was charged with selling controlled medication without authority and unregistered drugs, for being detained at Pattaya Police Station for further procedure.

Police Colonel Akkhaeadet Phimonsri stated that the apprehension was due to complaints from several Pattaya clinic operators in the area of Pattaya Police Station about the selling of unregistered and illegally imported medication.  Most of customers were foreign and elderly men. These particular medications are known to be dangerous for health, causing probable death.  The total cost of this haul was 561,286 baht, with a sale value of approximately 3-4 million baht. The offender who was also the importer is believed to be a Japanese man that the officers are in the process of apprehending.
