Peasants Mob Stormed Suvarnabhumi Airport And Gave Rice To Tourists

Mayan peasants stormed Suvarnabhumi airport and gave rice to tourists. They claimed that they did it to try and show the world that they haven’t received money for their rice crops. They also insisted that they weren’t trying to close the airport.

SUVANNAPBHUMI – February 16,2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 15.30, a journalist reported that at gate 10, on Departure Terminal 4, Suvannabhumi airport,Samutprakarn, farmers from the Central region of Thailand came in groups of 10-15 farmers , led by , Mr.Thongchai Karnjanapatnukul, with rice grains with a bouquet tied with striped flag ribbon. The farmers had tears and held signs saying stop hurting people. They gave rice to foreigners and Thais at the airport to expose their problems to the world after they didn’t receive money from the government for their crops.

Pol.Col.Kittiphop Chompunuch, director of Suvannabhumi airport police station, Pol.Lt.Col.Suppakorn, vice director of detective department, went to negotiate with the group of farmers and asked them to protest outside the building. The police had good cooperation from the farmers and they listened to the farmers but the atmosphere started to change even though it had been peaceful at first. They took 30 minutes to sing Siam Muangyim (a song name means Siam, the land of smile) in tears, the tourists and police officers listened before they got into a van and went back to the commercial ministry.
