Pattaya Warehouse and Workers Quarters Up in Smoke Arson Suspected

A furniture workers lodging in South Pattaya Road also used as a warehouse was damaged by fire. The police assumes that the fire caused by arson

Pattaya, July 27, 2011,(PDN) Pol.Capt. Nuntawut Suwalaoong Superintendent Pattaya Police along with his team and more than 30 of Pattaya Fire Fighter rushed to the workers residence at the furniture shop in South Pattaya Road after they were informed of a fire.

At the scene, the wooden house was locked and there was no one inside. Two motorbikes and some furniture was on fire. The rescue team decided to break down the door to extinguish the fire. They succeeded after about 20 minutes.

Upon inspection the police found some furnifure, electronic appliances and two Honda motorbikes that were damaged by fire. The loss is valued approximately at 200,000 THB.

Mr. Sanom Srisakul, 53, and Ms. Rat Pantiam, 57, the witnesses reported to the police that before the fire they heard something blew up. The fire took place at workers house which was also used to repair wooden furniture and for storage of chemicals. During the fire all eight workers who resided in the house went to work outside.
The police will conduct an investigation with the Forensic Science Division to determine the actual cause of the fire.
