Pattaya Vows No Street Vendor

A group of street vendors met Pattaya officers and claimed for justice and compromise after strict rule has been effective to them.

PATTAYA – September 19,2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; According to the strict rules to control and manage street vendor in Pattaya, 10 vendors together went to meet Mr Setthapol Boonsawas, advisor of Pattaya mayor, and concerned officers to claim for justice and compromise.

 

Pattaya official explained that the the strict rules have been effective according to policy of government in order to maintain order and cleanliness of the city especially Pattaya beach, Jomtien and walking street.

 

Meanwhile, Mr Suchart Warawut, street vendor, said that the vendors were allowed to sell their goods on the footpath with 1.5 meters previously. However, they were confiscated their goods by officers a couple days ago and they were not yet informed about the strict rules before. They prefer to pay the fee but they only need space for selling their goods.

 

Sub Lt Suvit Laklang said that public area management is milestone of NCPO and the official especially focuses on scenery town; however, the strict rules must be maintained without any compromise. The public places should be maintained as they are.
