Pattaya U-Turn Still On Process

Pattaya deputy mayor talks about pending U-turn point construction after someone complained about it again.

PATTAYA – Recently [PattayaDailyNews]; According to the case that Pattaya official has put 1.29 million baht on construction of U-turn points on Sukhumvit road, the official however didn’t yet open the points although the construction has been completed. Later the issue has been raised and criticised on the social network.


Later Pattaya officers and contractor inspected the points and they developed the environment by installing signal light and painting a line on the road in order to avoid accident. In addition, the official already determined the date which they would open the U-turns points.


However, those U-turn points are still unavailable. Some people decided to bring a big poster which complained about unclear job of Pattaya official to post at the points.


Mr.Ronnakit Aekasingha- deputy mayor of Pattaya- said that Pattaya official still follow their job; however, the issue has been brought as agenda in the meeting attended by Pattaya police, soldier and private sectors. In conclusion of the conference, they judged that these points are critical points.


These points are near a department store and some drivers always drive cutting-in the first lane to the entrance of the department store. As a result, more signals are needed for the U-turn points. In addition, 500,000 baht would be approved for these signs.


However, the project hasn’t been stipulated the budget, it’s no need emergency budget. According to the bureaucracy, the official needs to select the contractor by bidding and investigate the cost. It’s expected that the U-turn points would be available in the middle of April.
