Pattaya To Dismantle Overlapping Buildings In Canal

Banglamung sheriff has ordered the dismantle of buildings that have overlapped into the public canal in South Pattaya. The vice-mayor of Pattaya has already ordered heavy machinery to carry out the work.

PATTAYA – April 8 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; At Pattaya City Hall, Mr.Sakchai Tangho-the sheriff of Banglamung- was the head of conference about the dismantling of the overlapping buildings on the public canal (Southern Pattaya canal).

Dr Veerawat Khakhai-the vice mayor of Pattaya-said that the canal is used to drain waste water but nowadays there are many buildings that have been constructed overlapping into the canal obstructing rain water run off.
Recently city hall has ordered them to dismantle these buildings but some have ignored the order and some of them incessantly construct.

Mr.Sakchai also emphasised that the officers have to be strict and follow the law to find solutions for the situation.
In the conference, they agreed to dismantle 2 buildings 1 at Siam Bay shore and a bridge which was built across to a house. It’s expected that the canal can easily drain waste and rain water once it has been cleared of overlapping buildings.

Dr Veerawat said that they have ordered heavy machine to dismantle all the overlapping buildings along the canal in order to allow rain water to follow with ease during the rainy season.
