PATTAYA-May 30, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) had announced a curfew on May 22 from 22.00 pm.-05.00 am. They later announced a reduction in the curfew from 24.00 pm-04.00 am on May 28. The curfew has significantly affected tourism in Pattaya.
Pattaya Daily News reporters had been informed by Mr Rattanachai Sutthidechanai- Vice President of Pattaya City Council- that Pattaya council had concerns about the curfew because it had effected the economy in Pattaya so much. He also revealed that on May 23 Mr Itthipol Khunpleum-mayor of Pattaya- had discussed the situation with Mr Khomsarn Aekachai-governor of Chonburi- and Assistant District Chief Officers to ask the NCPO to cancel the curfew in Pattaya.

Fortunately the NCPO positively replied that they are going to establish a group so that they will review the curfew situation in specific areas and will decide to cancel the curfew in certain areas especially Pattaya and Phuket which are tourism provinces.
However these areas are to have no unrest or protests and they will report directly to General Prayuth in order to make decisions about any cancellations.
