Pattaya Street Vendor To Be Wiped Out

Pattaya officials confirmed regulation to maintain order and keep clean in attraction. The major point of the rule is to eliminate the vendor.

PATTAYA – Recently [PattayaDailyNews]; Pattaya official has intensified to effectively manage tourist attractions such as Walking Street, Pattaya and Jomtien beaches. The official focuses to wipe out street vendor and beggar.

 

In addition, the wrongdoer would be fined 2,000 baht at highest rate.

 

On August 1, around 100 street vendors went to Pattaya City Hall in order to discuss the issue with the officers. They requested the official to compromise the issue and they also proposed the solutions. The propositions comprised of 1.the official would provide rightful trading for vendor 2.fine should be reduced to 200-300 baht 3.street vendor would register with the official 4.the vendor should pay the tax.

Later Mr Setthapol Boonsawas, law advisor of Pattaya, chaired the conference to discuss about this issue at Pattaya City Hall on August 4. In conclusion, the official confirmed to enforce the strict rule without any compromise. The official claimed the compromise would lead to failure of the rule.

 

In addition, the strict rules affect to alien street vendor and Immigration Bureau would look after this matter.

 

Meanwhile, the street vendor would hold a protest on August 8.
