Pattaya Street Vendor Robbed of Bt17,000 at Gun Point

A street vender was robbed at gun point by two men on a motorbike outside the Immigration Office on Soi 5, Jomtien Beach , Banglamung.

The incident happened on 11th January 2010 at approximately 03.50am.  Mr. Wicharn Wongsuwan, [40], a bag seller living at Phasrijarem, Bangkok,  reported the incident to Police Lieutenant Colonel Ekkadit Srimoon, (a local Dongtarn Police Investigator, stating that he had been urinating in a dark field when the robbery took place. 

Information from the investigations found that the victim, Mr. Wicharn Wongsuwan, was a bag seller to the tourist in and around the local bars and the beach.  When he went into the dark field, two men on a motorbike with no registration and wearing helmets with the visors down to hide their faces approached with a gun pointing directly at him and after asking him to hand over the money, physically removed it from his pocket taking 17,000 Baht before making their escape.

Police have filed the evidence and will continue their investigation in their hope of apprehending the offenders.  The Police believe the two men may have committed several other crimes.
