PATTAYA – September 22, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: at 5 p.m., a report of underage prostitution was reported to Pol. Lt. Col. Chusak Kaytong, director 2, of the Anti-Human Trafficking Division.

A foreign undercover agent reported that while he was sitting on the beach in front of Central Festival Pattaya department store, a young woman came along and said she had a 15 year-old-girl available for services as a prostitute.

The agent then reported the incident to Pol. Capt. Anothorn Srithongbai, vice detective inspector of squad 2. On September 22, the police arranged a sting operation, with the undercover agent arranging for sexual services from the underage girl. They arranged to meet in front of Big C Extra store in Central Pattaya Road.

The woman then brought the girl, called “Ms. A” (alias), age 15, to meet the undercover agent. Police officers hiding nearby then showed their identities and arrested the woman, “Ms. B” (alias), age 19. Police searched Ms. B and found 4,500 baht cash that she said she made from prostitution.

During questioning, Ms. B confessed that Ms. A was her cousin from Samut Prakarn. She had brought Ms. A to travel in Pattaya for two days. Ms. B told her cousin that they could make money from prostitution by selling her to foreigners on the beach, and she had done it herself many times.

After a preliminary investigation, police charged Ms. B with providing a child under 15 years old for sexual commerce, then sent her to the detective team in Pattaya police station to prosecute.
