Pattaya Prepares For Wan Lai Festival 2015Pattaya held a meeting for the preparations of Wan Lai Festival for year 2015 which The Provincial Waterworks Authority, Pattaya has been coordinated to supply water for tourists at 10 points and also arrange for forces of onshore and marine (offshore) security guards.
PATTAYA – April 7,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at Pattaya City Hall, Chon Buri, Mr. Watthana Janthanawaranon (Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City) chaired a meeting for the preparations of Wan Lai Festival in Pattaya for the year 2015 which representatives of related organizations came to join in the meeting in order to receive a policy of operation for Wan Lai Festival. For this year, Pattaya has arranged for Wan Lai Festival on April 19, 2015 which Pattaya beach road will be closed from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. in order to let Thai and foreign tourist’s splash water joyfully. Wan Lai Festival in Pattaya is regarded as Songkran Festival in Thailand and it is also the conservation of local tradition which is a unique tradition and an activity that promotes annual tourism in Pattaya. For this year, Pattaya will set up water curtains in 2 points on Pattaya beach.
Pattya has coordinated with The Provincial Waterworks Authority, Pattaya branch, to supply the water for the festival as well as give free drinking water for tourists. The 10 points of water supply for the festival are in the following areas : in front of Amari Hotel, at the beginning of Soi 5, 9, 12 and 13/1, along Pattaya beach road, in front of Tropicana Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, an administration tent, at the beginning of Soi Pattaya Land and Chai Mongkhon Temple, South Pattaya.
As for the security and traffic, the Municipal Official Division that belongs to Subdivision of Peace and Security, Office of The Pattaya City Manager, has coordinated with forces of police and police volunteers to be in charge of both onshore and offshore security for tourists of which there will be 250 police officers from the Pattaya city police station, 100 volunteer police officers, 60 police officers from the Banglamung police station, 20 volunteer police officers, 10 officers of Pattaya Tourist Police, 20 volunteer police officers, 12 Highway Police officers, 50 volunteer police officers, 10 police officers from the Nong Prue police station, 5 volunteer police officers, 50 volunteer officers from the Thapphraya 2310 Foundation, 35 rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Rescue Foundation, 30 officers of the Civil Defence Volunteers, 50 officers from the Peace and Order Maintaining of Pattaya city and Si Khram Radio Center.
