Pattaya Police Vow “Uber” Illegal

Pattaya officers explained about “Uber” in Pattaya after female driver blamed as “Uber” and chased by Pattaya taxi drivers.

PATTAYA-Recently-[PattayaDailyNews]; Taxi drivers of Pattaya taxi cooperation chased a female driver who they assumed as “Uber” driver after she picked up a foreigner from Central Marina. However, this is misunderstanding issue because the woman who is property agent who picked up her Chinese customer to see room in Pattaya.


Pol Col Apichai Krobpetch, chief of Pattaya police, said that this is crime because these taxi drivers tried to capture and detain other. However, they should notify the official instead of doing by themselves.


Official insists that Uber is illegal according to transportation law because these drivers don’t have public license to operate. Nowadays, the officers are attempting to get rid of illegal drivers. The official would like the people to not use this.


Mr Attakarn Theerawit 58 year-old taxi driver revealed that legal taxi drivers are badly affected by Uber drivers because these Uber drivers don’t have to invest their money. Meanwhile, taxi drivers have to shoulder any cost such as car installment, rental cost and tax. In addition, competition amongst taxi drivers is quite high but they have to compete with these illegal drivers as well.
