Pattaya Police Make A Statement About The Arrest Of A Snatching Gang

Pattaya police have made a statement about arrest of 2 men who were shot at by police after they snatched a bag from a Russian tourist.

PATTAYA- Recently- [Pattaya Daily News] regarding to the case that police officer were notified that 2 villains who snatched belongings from a foreigner and were shot by a chasing police patrol team in front of Grand Condominium Pattaya, the officials revealed that the thieves were Mr.Aukkarapon Buaberk aged 18 who was shot in left leg and Mr.Mos aged 17 who was shot twice in the ankle. In addition a Russian girl a Miss Elena Sarycmeva aged 27 was shot and injured and also to cars were damaged.

 

On 14th December at 17.30 pm Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong Niemnoi-commander of Chinburi- and Pol.Col.Suppatee Boonkrong-acting superintendent of Pattaya police station- brought Mr.Aukkarapon to make a statement in front of reporters. Mr.Aukkarapon confessed that he had snatched some belongings from a foreigner and he claimed that he needed money to pay for his child. Later they spotted a Russian girl so they rode their motorbike alongside her before snatching her bag and fleeing the scene.

Later Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong and Mr.Sanga Kitsamret-committee of the tourist help center- visited Miss Elena who had been shot in her right anklebone at Pattaya Memorial hospital. Also the tourist help center gave the hospital 20,000 baht to cover her medical treatment costs.

 

Miss.Elena said that she wasn’t going to prosecute anyone and would like thank the police and those who took care her medical costs. It’s expected that she will make a full recovery.
