Pattaya Police Enforce Traffic Rules

Pattaya police have inspected the traffic conditions on Pattaya roads in order to solve the ever growing traffic congestion. Plus they had sent a fast patrol team to congested road.

PATTAYA – July 11, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 12.00 pm at Walking Street Pattaya Daily News reporters revealed that the police had inspected and controlled the traffic on the road from Central Pattaya Beach along Pattaya Sai 1 road. They also found some people had disobeyed the traffic rules such as double parking and not wearing helmets. The police then issued tickets and clamped the cars which were illegally parked.

 

Pol.Maj.Jedsadawit Inprapan-traffic inspector of Pattaya police station- revealed that previously the Royal Thai police office had announced to tighten the traffic rules in Bangkok and were now concentrating on Pattaya. The officers had painted white-yellow and white-red signs along 1,330 meters of Pattaya Sai 1 road’s footpath in order to solve the double parking problem. Also they had clamped down the street vendors which had caused traffic congestion in the past. After all the work had been done the police sent a team to inspect travel times down beach road where they found that the congestion has been eased they can now pass along the road in around 10 minutes compared with 30 minutes before. The police also added that anyone caught breaking the traffic rules will be arrested and prosecuted in order to set a good image of Pattaya.

In addition Pattaya police said that between the 9th June-10th July they had confiscated 377 and 407 cars had been clamped. Also 121 drunken drivers had been arrested.

 

The fast patrol team consisting of 6 foreign volunteer who announce traffic rules for foreigners and 5 police officers who inspect the traffic condition. The team will inspect Pattaya Sai 1, Pattaya Sai 2, Phra tamnak, Pattaya tai and Pattaya Klang every day from 10.00 am-21.00 pm.
