Pattaya Police Assaulted After Inspection

Pattaya police were assaulted and injured by vendors in a market after they inspected for pirated goods.

PATTAYA-3 July- [PattayaDailyNEws] at 17.00 pm Pol.Col.Suktd Pumpanmuang-superintendent of Pattaya police station- was notified that a policeman had been attacked and injured in a market in Soi Bua Kaw road, South Pattaya. After notification the police officers rushed to the scene.


At the scene the officers found a big group of about 30-40 vendors surrounding Pol.Lt.Col.Kwanpichai Manocharoensup deputy superintendent- who was hit in his right eye and Pol.Lt.Rapeepong Sarape who was hit to the head, plus 5 other officers had been attacked and were slightly injured. All of the injured officers were taken to Banglamung Hospital.


Upon questioning Pol.Lt.Col.Kwanpichai he revealed that he and his men went to investigate 3-4 vendors who sold pirated watches in the market then Mr.Supphakrit Akkalertlap aged 61 the market owner asked the officers who was the inspecting officer. Pol.Lt.COl.Kwanchai told him that he was the inspector but he didn’t show his id card which caused Mr.Supphakrit to get angry and hit the officer once before 10 vendors surrounded the officers and attacked the officers.
