Pattaya Police Arrest Teenager With Pistol At Loy Krathong Festival

Pattaya police have arrested a drunken male teenager who was carrying a pistol at the Loy Krathong festival at Jomtien beach.

PATTAYA – November 7, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.30 a.m., Pol.Col. Supphathee Boonkhrong (Acting Superintendent of Pattaya city police station) was by a bystander that there were over 10 teenagers drinking alcohol and taking out a pistol to show tourists and local people which caused a lot of concern. The incident occurred at Jomtien beach, opposite to Villa Navin hotel, Moo 12 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. Therefore, he commanded Pol.Capt. Nopphadon Raksawong (Deputy Inspector) to rush to inspect the scene together with a police team.

 

When they arrived at the scene the police team found over 10 teenagers who were sitting drinking alcohol enjoying themselves until they noticed the police and fled in all different directions but the police managed to arrest a Mr. Borwornsak Boonkhum, aged 24, residing at house no. 90/4 Moo 5 Tambon Nong Pla Lai, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, who was in possession of a pistol and 6 rounds of ammunitions which were in the pistol but had already been used.

 

Upon questioning Mr. Borwornsak, he claimed that he and over 10 friends had been drinking alcohol together celebrating Loy Krathong. After he got drunk he decided to show his pistol but wasn’t going to use it. Mr. Borwornsak was then detained and sent to an inquiry official to be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
