Pattaya Police Arrest  Teenage Racing Gang

Pattaya  police officers set up check points on a local road after they received complaints from locals that teenagers were using the road for racing every Saturday night.

PATTAYA– November 9, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 03.00 am Pol.Col.Suttisak Wantee-superintendent of Nong Prue police station-, Pol.Col.Thammanoon Munkong-superintendent of Bang Lamung police station-  led a team to install police checkpoints  on route no.36 in order to inspect car racing gang after some villagers had complained that the gang always raced every Saturday night.

 

Upon inspecting the officers stopped 15 vehicles which consisted of 14 trucks and a car. They also arrested about 50 teenagers and 21 of them were  under the age of  18. They were all then taken to the police station for further questioning.

The suspects confessed that they had arranged the race via Facebook and they came from Chonburi and Rayong to race. Plus they always race on Saturday night.

 

The officials revealed that previously villagers had complained that the teenagers raced on the road every Saturday night so the officers planned to arrest them. However the teenagers will be prosecuted according to Thai law.
